The Recovered Alcoholic Clergy Association (RACA) is a working fellowship of the clergy of the Episcopal Church.

Any bishop, priest, deacon, member of a religious order, or seminarian who has a desire to stop using mood altering chemicals is eligible for membership. RACA is always willing offer support and counsel to ordained members of other religious traditions who want to discover the miracle of recovery as we have experienced it.

RACA has grown from the original six organizers in 1968 to 277 in 2010 our forty-second year of being more or less organized..

RACA's purpose is three-fold:

  • Mutual self-help
  • Fellowship
  • Pastoral concern for clergy with a drinking problem and their families.

Members live in virtually all of the United States as well as, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

Our Fall Retreat will be held at the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas, NV in October 12-14 2010. We meet in a suite for our meetings.

Make your own reservation at the Hotel. Tell them it is for the RACA conference and your room cost will be $29.00 per night plus resort fee which gets you into the pool. The Stratosphere is an above average property in Las Vegas where we have stayed several times.

Email Fr. Ed. G. at padregus@oldmutt.com to indicate you are coming and will pay the conference fee of $50.

The retreat includes AA meetings, regular prayer and plenty of time for sightseeing. Come early stay late. October in the desert is fabulous. Air fares to Las Vegas are amongst the cheapest anywhere in the world.
