The Recovered Alcoholic Clergy Association (RACA) is a working fellowship of the clergy of the Episcopal Church. We enjoy ecumenical contacts with recovering ordained persons from other traditions even though membership is limited to current and former clergy of the Episcopal Church.
Any bishop, priest, deacon, member of a religious order, or seminarian who has a desire to stop using mood altering chemicals is eligible for membership.
RACA has grown from the original six organizers in 1968 to 269 in 2015 our forty-seventh year of being more or less organized..
RACA's purpose is three-fold:
- Mutual self-help
- Pastoral concern for clergy with a drinking problem and their families.
Our Director may be reached by telephone at

When you call, please say "This is a RACA call". Father Courtney's postal address is:

Part of our outreach is to lay leaders who are concerned for their clergy and their chemical health. We are happy to offer referral and other suggestions to these faithful servants.
